More about Isle of Wight Festival

The Isle of Wight Festival was reincarnated in 2002 by John Giddings of Solo Promoters after it first began in 1968. Since this time we have produced line ups that showcase new and emerging talent as well as some of the biggest and most credible names in the music world which create a diverse and eclectic musical experience for our audience. The Festival has a special, magical atmosphere which we believe starts from the moment the Festival goer reaches the ferry to cross the Solent. Our aim is that all our artists and their entourage have an enjoyable and smooth running experience and hopefully get the chance to soak up the Festival vibe.
2016’s line up maintained the Festival’s tradition of providing something for everyone. The Who delivered their classic 60’s rock with as much attitude as ever whilst Faithless provided a powerfully atmospheric dance set. Every festival now has to provide an eclectic mix of talent as the boundaries of genres become further blurred, however the Isle of Wight Festival takes particular pride in offering performances which you might not see elsewhere.

This year Queen + Adam Lambert played their first ever UK festival and brought the Festival to a phenomenal crescendo which will be hard ever to forget. The excitement began as soon as they were announced and it was easy to predict the sing-along moments which would result. However, the Festival crowd and crew alike were stunned by both the poignancy and joy which descended over Seaclose Park.
Alongside the incredible line-up on the Main Stage and Big Top, there are over 14 stages spread over the Festival site creating different areas to discover throughout the weekend. The Hard Rock Stage & Garden showcased artists such as Laurence Fox while Jack Rocks with This Feeling hosted breakthrough acts and DJs into the early hours. The Festival is dedicated to supporting new talent as well as established artists and Blossoms played a stand out set which helped them to become one of the biggest new bands last year.

The Festival also provides other ways to keep Festival goers entertained and happy throughout the weekend - from the Jolly Green Sherpas who are there to carry bags and tents into the campsite, to a BA Airport Lounge with free holidays to be won. Backstage the team also go above and beyond to ensure that everyone involved has an experience to remember. Each year the artist’s village has continued to grow and provide an area where artists are able to relax and enjoy some of the benefits from the Festival - whether this be gifting from Eye Respect sunglasses or playing on one of the Fender guitars. Media are also well looked after with daily deliveries from Domino’s, crates of Bulmers and lockers for valuables.
